Sleep-Deprived Rats Take "Brain Naps"

Reporting in the journal Nature, researchers measuring brain activity in sleep deprived-rats say some neurons in rats' brains can enter a sleep state, even though the rats are still awake. UCLA Medical School psychiatry professor Christopher Colwell explains the findings.
